Counting rules
What the result means
The default result measures the distance from the start date to the target date. Monday to Tuesday is one day. August 1 to August 31 is 30 days. This is the standard way to express elapsed calendar time.
If you need to count every occupied date, turn on the inclusive option. A five-day trip that starts Monday and ends Friday occupies five dates, even though the elapsed difference is four days.

The calculator works for future and past dates. It uses calendar-day numbers, which avoids errors around daylight-saving changes. The exact span also respects the real length of each month and leap years.

Can I count from a date other than today?
Yes. Change the Count from field to any valid date between 1900 and 2200.
What happens if the target date has passed?
The calculator reports how many days have passed since that date. It does not reject past dates or require you to reverse the fields.
Does the result include today?
Not by default. Select Include both the start and target dates when you need an inclusive count.
Can I share my countdown?
Yes. After calculating, use Copy shareable result. The selected dates and optional event name are stored in the link, not in an account.
